There are different kinds of mental health support, depending on what you need. Sometimes it helps to read clear information. Sometimes it helps to speak to someone. And sometimes urgent support is needed straight away. This short list brings together three well-known services that offer different kinds of help.
Mind
Mind offers information and support for people experiencing mental health problems, as well as for those supporting someone else. Its services include a Support Line on 0300 102 1234, an Infoline on 0300 123 3393, and email support via info@mind.org.uk. Mind can also help people find local Mind services where these are available.
Shout
Shout is the UK’s free, confidential, 24/7 mental health text service. It is designed for people who are struggling to cope and want immediate support by text. To get help, text SHOUT to 85258 at any time. Shout also has a general enquiries email, info@giveusashout.org, although this is not for counselling or support.
These services offer different kinds of support. Mind is useful for information and guidance, Samaritans for listening support at any time, and Shout for immediate text-based help.
