Major gifts

We invite those who give major gifts to become Impact Partners.

You’ll join a community whose commitment enables long-term change. We’ll work closely with you to align your interests with the areas you care about most — whether that’s emergency support, family wellbeing, mental health, or care in retirement.

To recognise your support, we offer:

  • Personalised impact reporting, so you can see the difference your gift makes
  • Invitations to special events throughout the year, including our annual services at St Paul's Cathedral and The King's Chapel of The Savoy
  • Opportunities to engage more deeply with our mission and meet others who share your values

Donor advised funds

A donor advised fund (DAF) is a simple, flexible and effective way to give. It offers the benefits of your own charitable foundation, without the hassle or expense.

Individuals, families or organisations can add funds, assets or securities to their DAF account as often as they’d like – then recommend when and where to distribute them, enabling impactful and tax-efficient philanthropy.

Clergy Support Trust is happy to receive donations from Donor Advised Funds. To learn more, email us at hello@clergysupport.org.uk

Shares

If you have shares to sell, it is most cost effective if you sell your shares through your own stockbroker, and donate the proceeds to Clergy Support Trust.

If you prefer, you can consider using ShareGift, particularly for small shareholdings. You can request that ShareGift donate the value of the shares to Clergy Support Trust, however we will not know that the gift has come from you.

If you want us to know that you have made a gift in this way, please email us at hello@clergysupport.org.uk

Trusts and Foundations

By partnering with us, you will walk alongside clergy and their families in the most powerful way; by providing the support they need to live well, serve boldly, and lead flourishing communities.

We can work with you to identify bespoke projects for your Trust or Foundation to fund, and we will provide bespoke reporting to monitor your impact.

We can also provide our logo and a branding guide for use in your communications. We would appreciate receiving your own logo and information about the kind of projects you fund, so we can acknowledge and celebrate your support on our website and our social media channels.

Livery Companies

In 1655, concerned with the welfare of clergy, their children and widows, a Festival was held by merchants, the sons of clergy, Liverymen and Freemen of the City of London to raise funds.

370 years later, a great deal has changed, but Clergy Support Trust's mission to serve those who serve remains the same. As does our deep, historic connection with the Livery movement.

We greatly value the centuries-old support of Worshipful Companies and Guilds. Many Livery members also support us individually, by becoming Stewards of the Festival. The Lord Mayor of the City of London shows their support through an ex officio role as an Honorary President.

In 2024, we provided more than 750 grants - almost £700,000 - to support households in the London area. Many clergy in the City and beyond rely on our support to get by, including Livery Chaplains, past and present, and their families.
