Lent is a season of reflection and renewal, a time when many Christians pause, pray, and consider how we might live out Christ’s call to love our neighbour.

It is a time when generosity, in every form, becomes a natural expression of compassion and shared life.

For Clergy Support Trust, that call is close to home. Across the UK and Ireland, thousands of clergy and their families face financial pressure, ill health or uncertainty - often quietly and without complaint. Through compassionate grants and services, we journey alongside them in times of challenge, offering support, reassurance and hope.

By setting up a regular monthly gift, you can help provide steady, dignified support that allows clergy and their families to face difficult moments with security and peace of mind.

Lina is in a white dress, sat in her wheelchair, holding a tennis racket, in the living room.

Lina has spina bifida

This doesn't hold her back, and she is an enthusiastic, energetic girl who wants to play with her friends and live life to the full.

However, fit-for-purpose wheelchairs can costs thousands of pounds, and those provided by local authorities cause her pain when used for too long.

We were privileged to provide a grant towards a more comfortable everyday wheelchair, as well as a specialist wheelchair for sports. The six year-old has become quite the tennis player!

“It’s been an absolute game changer. It’s transformed Lina’s life. Before she had the sports wheelchair, she only really spoke to adults and was really shy speaking to other children. It's given her a sense of self-confidence."

- Nik, Lina's father and an Army Chaplain

Since we reopened in January, we've received over 1,000 applications from households in need, just like Lina and her family.

This Lent, we invite you to set up a regular gift, in a spirit of care and shared responsibility. For many supporters, a monthly gift is a simple and manageable way to give - spreading generosity across the year while staying connected to the difference it makes.

Your regular gift could help:

  • Provide assistive technology, restoring independence and dignity
  • Cover the cost of an educational psychologist assessment
  • Fund mental health support during times of crisis
  • Enable access to physical therapies

Help us to journey alongside over 2,700 households each year, to support them with the challenges they face, at Lent and throughout the year.
