Verifications will close on Monday 1 December 2025, and Applications will close on Monday 8 December 2025 at midday.

We will reopen both Applications and Verifications on Wednesday 7 January 2026, 9am.

This will give our hard-working team, processing more applications than ever before, the chance to rest and recharge. However, we will continue to process applications submitted before these deadlines, and we will be contactable for unexpected emergency situations, until our office closes on Friday 19 December 2025, midday.

Text reads: Monday 1 December, Verifications close. Monday 8 December, midday, Applications close. Wednesday 7 January, 9am, Applications and Verifications reopen.

If you are in need of urgent support after this date, we recommend you refer to the alternative sources of charitable support listed on our website.

If you feel comfortable, you can also contact your diocese, Archdeacon or Bishop to see if there are any discretionary funds which may be able to help.

When we reopen in 2026, we will have made some changes to our criteria.

These changes, which concern savings thresholds and property ownership, are to ensure that our vital support reaches the households in the greatest need.

For a small number of applicants - specifically those who own more than one property, or have more than £100,000 in savings - this may mean that they are ineligible for some grants for which they had previously been eligible.

Please keep an eye on our website, where we will share more information about these changes to our criteria during the week of Monday 8 December 2025.
