The Stewards of the Festival were responsible for organising the annual Festival at St Paul's Cathedral. In 1975, this task was taken over by the staff at Clergy Support Trust.
The historic title of Steward has been retained to ensure continuity. Today it allows supporters to demonstrate their support for the Festival, clergy families and the charity's work.
Stewards can choose to process at the start of the service, like the clergy, Masters/Prime Wardens/Upper Baliffs and other representatives of the City of London.
