We are a grant-making charity supporting Anglican clergy and their families. Ours is a small, friendly team of about a dozen people with the aim of reaching more Anglican clergy families in need of our support.
Founded in 1655 and with assets of over £120m, the charity provides financial grants and other forms of support to serving and retired ministers, ordinands, and clergy families. In 2020 we supported more than 1,300 individuals to the tune of over £2.6m.
This role is responsible for the charity’s support services and a key member of the four-person Senior Leadership Team. In particular, you will be responsible for both the strategic and day-to-day management of our significant financial resources (premises, properties, funds and investments).
We are looking for a qualified accountant with a significant track record, plus experience outside of finance, a strategic thinker and 'do-er' who can see the big picture, contributing to the overall success of the charity.
Alongside having an understanding of investments and fund management, experience of at least one non-financial area of the job description (IT, HR, property/facilities management, data protection) is essential. Candidates will need to demonstrate sympathy with our Christian ethos, without necessarily being a practising Christian.
We offer an attractive package, including non-contributory pension equal to 10% of gross annual salary, 35-hour week, and flexi-time policy.
